Peer reviews

We take great pride in the robust nature of the internal and external review processes we have in place. These ensure that our research remains important, relevant and well directed.

Good research governance always includes a stringent peer review procedure. The Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC), of which RAFT is a member, makes peer review a condition of membership. We present our research at scientific and medical conferences nationally and internationally to share our knowledge. Through this sharing we ensure that our research remains vital and valid.

    Our policy is as follows:
  • All new research projects are peer reviewed by external experts in a specific field
  • All existing projects are subject to a review by an invited panel of experts both medical and scientific. This review consists of a written submission, presentation to the panel with rigorous and intense academic questioning
  • Papers are submitted to appropriate scientific journals which are subjected to peer review
  • Theses are submitted for examination by universities
  • Papers are presented at national and international meetings that are peer reviewed

We present our research at scientific and medical conferences nationally and internationally to share our knowledge.
