Strategic Review - Final Phase

Posted 10/04/08

In 2007 RAFT conducted a comprehensive strategic review which covered every area of the Charity's operations and looked at the future direction of RAFT.

One of our major conclusions was that RAFT was undertaking too many projects and we decided to focus on our skin related projects. We also agreed that all of our existing areas of research were important, and that we would seek to transfer other projects to collaborative institutions who could continue the work.

Research work on two of the projects is carried out at Royal Free Hospital under the supervision of Plastic Surgeons there, and as a result we have been in discussion with Royal Free over recent months about the continuation of these projects.

We are now delighted to announce that we have concluded arrangements with Royal Free for them to take full responsibility for the Facial Palsy and Squamous Cell Carcinoma research projects, thus ensuring the long term support for these essential areas of research.
