News about our Chairman

Posted 21/05/10

Following the change in Government, RAFT's Chairman - The Earl Howe - has accepted the role of Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Department of Health. We are delighted and proud that his experience and expertise has been recognized in such a public way.

Lord Howe's new responsibilities mean that it would no longer be feasible for him to act as a Trustee and Chairman of RAFT. Therefore, it is with great regret, that Lord Howe has announced he will be resigning as RAFT's Chairman and as a Trustee.  Lord Howe has been a Trustee of RAFT since November 1999 and Chairman since November 2008.

As Chairman, Lord Howe, has been an inspiration to all. His unstinting enthusiasm for RAFT's work and calm leadership has been a source of strength for RAFT during this difficult economic climate.  We have  greatly appreciated the depth of Lord Howe's interest and support of RAFT during his term as Trustee and Chairman as well as his warmth, encouragement and generosity.

We wish Lord Howe every success in his new role.
