New Patron for RAFT

Leonor Stjepic, Chief Executive, is pleased to announce that Professor Ray Waters will be joining RAFT as a Patron. “His expertise on UV radiation will be of tremendous value to RAFT’s skin cancer research work.”

Professor Waters’ worked as Chairman of the Sub-Committee on sunbeds for the Government commissioned COMARE report (Committee on Medical Aspects of Radiation in the Environment), which recommended that under 18s be prohibited from using commercial sunbeds and the ban of unsupervised sunbeds in commercial outlets (eg coin-operated kiosks). This unprecedented knowledge on the issue makes him a perfect Patron.

RAFT has been trying to raise awareness of the dangers of sunbeds for some time now, and by collaborating our resources and efforts we hope to make more of an impact.
