Introducing Keith Blackwood, new Post-Doctoral Research Scientist

Keith Blackwood has joined RAFT as Post-doctoral Research Scientist to the Wound Healing research project.

Keith says:

"My PhD at Sheffield was on skin reconstruction and the position offered at RAFT provided an opportunity to pursue research in a field which I am both interested in and familiar with, yet is sufficiently different to provide a new set of challenges. RAFT, as a research charity, offers a different working environment to my previous post. Already I am finding the experience to be refreshing and am integrating with the current staff well. I am joining the Wound Healing group, primarily to work on the optimisation of the design and process of translating the manufacture for clinical use. I will also be developing in vivo models in order to improve our understanding of the complexities of wound healing. This will help us to devise ways of using wound healing scaffolds in the most challenging situations. I am looking forward to helping RAFT take the Smart Matrix towards a clinical product."
